Talenna vs Varkos: which Web of Corruption champ is worth your resources?
The Web of Corruption event put two very different champions on the table: Talenna Soulseer and Varkos Headsplitter. If you are deciding whether to stop at one copy, chase both, or commit higher-end resources, the answer depends less on raw hype and more on what your account actually needs.
Talenna is the safer all-around pickup. She is a Support champion built around poisons, turn meter control, cooldown pressure, and team utility. Her kit rewards accuracy and speed, and she brings a valuable SPD aura that helps her slot into progression teams, dungeon farming, and many arena setups. In practical terms, that makes her the better first choice for newer and midgame players because she contributes even when your gear is not perfect. Champions like Talenna tend to age well: debuff support remains useful in Clan Boss, waves, and control-heavy PvP, especially when you still need one champion to do multiple jobs.
Varkos, by contrast, is the more explosive PvP-style investment. He is a Damage Dealer who leans into retaliation, ally attacks, counterattacks, ignore protection pressure, and Block Revive finishers. That combination makes him dangerous when you can force repeated trigger conditions, but it also means his value is more team-dependent. Varkos shines brightest in accounts that already have strong enablers: counterattack support, ally attack setups, and the speed to let him swing first or punish enemy openers. If your roster is thin, he can feel inconsistent; if your roster is built around tempo and burst, he can delete targets fast.
For F2P and low-spender players, Talenna is usually the better resource sink. She offers broader utility, smoother gearing, and more room for error. Varkos is the kind of champion that becomes scarier as your account matures, but he asks for more support before he pays off.
For P2W or late-game players, Varkos deserves serious attention if you enjoy arena aggression and niche damage windows. He is the more specialized win-condition champion, while Talenna is the more universally practical account booster.
Bottom line: if you can only prioritize one, Talenna is the safer long-term value. If your roster already has the tools to enable burst and retaliation strategies, Varkos has the higher ceiling in the right team.
