What a Primal Shard Opening Really Means for F2P and Main Accounts
Primal Shards have become one of the most exciting resources in Raid: Shadow Legends because they sit at the center of the Mythical chase. For many players, the first pull is less about instant power and more about understanding what kind of account progress the system can unlock. That is especially true when comparing a free-to-play roster to a heavily invested main account.
The headline lesson is simple: Primal Shards are not a shortcut to a complete team. They are a high-variance investment. A lucky Mythical can transform an account, but the best players still build around consistency, not hype. On a main account, a big opening can fill specific holes in Arena, Hydra, or wave control. On a F2P account, even a single elite pull can be game-changing, but only if the rest of the roster can support that champion.
A strong example of the current Mythical landscape is Siegfrund the Nephilim. He is a Mythical champion from the Sacred Order with Magic affinity and an ATK aura of 35% in All Battles. That alone tells you why Mythicals matter: they are designed to be premium, all-purpose centerpiece champions with a ceiling that can reshape multiple areas of play. But even top-end pulls still need gear, mastery planning, and team structure to matter.
For most players, the smartest approach to Primal Shards is to treat them like a long-term resource. Use them when the pool is strongest for your account goals. If you need progression, favor champions that solve account-wide problems: turn meter control, healing, revives, cleansing, or dependable damage. If you already have a deep account, look for niche upgrades that improve Arena speed, Hydra consistency, or dungeon efficiency.
F2P players should be especially careful not to overvalue the “first Mythical” dream. A good Epic or Legendary lineup can still outperform a flashy pull if the rest of the account is underdeveloped. The real value of a Primal opening is account direction: does it create a new team, upgrade an existing one, or simply add another expensive name to the vault?
That is why shard openings are best judged by impact, not rarity alone. The best Primal pull is the one that immediately improves your next 30 days of gameplay.
