How to Stop Wasting Energy on Speed Set Rolls in Raid: Shadow Legends
A big Speed Set rolling session is exciting because it targets one of the most valuable gear families in the game. Speed remains the most universal stat in Raid: Shadow Legends: it drives turn order in Arena, improves wave control in Dungeons, and helps every clean auto team function more smoothly. That means the real question is not whether Speed gear is good — it is — but which pieces are worth taking past level 12, and which should be sold immediately.
The strongest Speed pieces are usually boots, then chestplates and gloves with premium substats. Boots with Speed as the main stat are the baseline for almost every champion, especially early and mid game. For endgame, the best upgrades are pieces that also roll into Speed, Accuracy, Critical Rate, Critical Damage, or survivability stats like HP% and DEF%. A Speed Set item with flat ATK, flat HP, and resistance may look tempting, but it rarely becomes a long-term keeper unless the fourth substat is already excellent.
When rolling Speed gear, the smartest approach is to protect your silver. Take promising pieces to +8 first, then evaluate the first and second rolls. If a piece misses Speed entirely and the other substats are weak, sell it. If it starts with Speed and another high-value stat, push to +12. Only elite pieces deserve +16. That discipline matters even more during event periods, when players often burn millions of silver chasing “maybe” items.
For F2P players, the goal is not to build perfect sets for everyone. It is to assemble enough fast, functional gear to make your core champions work: a speed lead like Gorgorab, an opener for control, and support champions that can cycle turns quickly. Gorgorab is a classic example because his Arena aura gives 23% Speed in Arena, making every point of Speed gear more valuable. Aox the Rememberer, with a 60 Accuracy aura in Doom Tower, shows the other side of gearing: sometimes your Speed pieces are only half the job, and Accuracy still has to be covered elsewhere.
For heavier spenders, the lesson is different. P2W accounts can brute-force more rolls, but the efficiency test stays the same: Speed gear is only premium if it creates a usable threshold. The best sets are those that push key champions past benchmark speeds without sacrificing Accuracy, resistance, or damage stats.
The real value of any Speed rolling session is not the number of items enhanced. It is the number of champions whose turn order, consistency, and win rate actually improve afterward.
