Deathdealer Relic Guide: Best Champions, Mechanics, and Builds
Deathdealer is one of the most important offensive relics in Raid: Shadow Legends because it changes how you build damage dealers. Its defining effect is simple but extremely powerful: the wearer’s attacks are always critical, and those critical hits ignore enemy DEF. That combination makes it far more than a stat stick. It is a build-shaping relic that can let a champion drop Crit Rate entirely and invest harder into raw damage, survivability, or speed.
For most players, the biggest mistake is treating Deathdealer as a universal best-in-slot. It is not. The relic shines on champions whose damage is concentrated in a few hard-hitting attacks, especially single-target nukers, extra-turn specialists, and champions with attacks that already scale well into late-game PvP. It is especially nasty on champions whose kits reward killing a target or chaining turns, because guaranteed criticals make those reset and execute loops much more reliable.
Champions that benefit most are usually the ones who want pure damage and can survive long enough to use it. Classic examples include heavy arena nukers, execution-style attackers, and champions whose passive or active kit spikes when enemies are low. Champions such as Rotos, Siegfrund, Cheshire Cat, and similar finishers are natural candidates because Deathdealer removes the need to build Crit Rate and helps their hits punch through armor without relying on external debuffs.
The relic also creates a major gearing advantage for free-to-play and budget accounts. A conventional damage dealer often needs Crit Rate gloves, Crit Rate substats, and more awkward gear balancing. With Deathdealer equipped, those requirements disappear. That can free up entire gear sets for Crit Damage, ATK, HP, DEF, or Speed. In practice, this often produces a bigger damage jump than chasing a small stat upgrade elsewhere.
There are, however, tradeoffs. Deathdealer does not fix weak multipliers, poor turn cycling, or bad accuracy needs. It also does not make every champion suddenly good at the same content. In Hydra, Clan Boss, and long PvE fights, raw consistency matters, but some builds still value debuffs, healing, or conditional effects more than crit-fueled burst. If a champion already has guaranteed crits in the kit, the relic’s value depends on whether ignoring DEF is more useful than another relic’s utility.
The best approach is straightforward: use Deathdealer on a champion that wants to hit as hard as possible, as often as possible, with minimal setup. If you are building for Live Arena, Siege, or high-pressure PvP, it is one of the cleanest relics in the game for converting an attacker into a true threat.
